Trekking Tsangpo Gorge
The Tsangpo Gorge, or Yarlung Tsangpo Canyon is a beauty, remoteness, and mystique deep, long canyon in the Pemako region in Tibet. Pemako, an isolated valley situated in the Southeast of Tibet, is considered as a botanist's paradise. This verdant valley is protected by the huge rampart of Mt. Namcho Barwa (7756 m.) and Mt. Gyala Pelri (7151 m.) in the north. Namcho Barwa is the highest unclimbed peak on Earth. Mt. Gyala Pelri towers just 21 km opposite of Mt. Namcho Barwa. In between these giant massive is the 5000 meter deep gorge where the River Tsangpo, one of the great rivers of Asia, originated in the hinterland of Mt. Kailash, bends dramatically and drops down rapidly to the Northeast of India, where it is called Bramhaputra, finally converging into the bay of Bangal.
